Nasty Virus!

Poor Maddie has had a nasty virus the last few days. Sunday night she was sick to her stomach, very whiny and her fever was getting higher. Her temp got so high yesterday that we had to call the doctor and find out what's going on. Poor Lisa texted me and said her temp registered 104.3! By the time I got home from work, Brian had stripped her down to just her diaper in an effort to cool her body temp down and she was just whimpering. She was absolutely pitiful and looked like she was so miserable-she was beet red and burning up. Off to after-hours she went and they gave her every test I think they had. When they took her temp it read 104.9!!! She had a nasal swab to test for flu: negative, a throat culture for strep: negative, a urine sample taken for urinary tract infection: negative. Then, they took her blood. Everything checked out ok and her white cell count wasn't even elevated. The diagnosis? She has a virus and we just have to give her Motrin and keep her temp down until she gets over it. Ugh!! Thankfully, once she got home from the doctor and got ready for bed, she slept from 9:30 last night to 5:15 this morning and woke up warm but not burning up. I'll take it. Get better soon baby girl!
